Maruti Suzuki的主席RC Bhargava表示，GST減稅可能會導致本財年小型車銷量增長10%。
本週，GST委員會宣布了自2017年以來最大的一次稅改，這一舉措在節日前夕為市場帶來了新的樂觀情緒。政府將稅率降至5%和18%，預計將緩解由於美國總統唐納德·特朗普實施的高額關稅對印度經濟可能造成的打擊。

作為印度最大的汽車銷售商，Maruti Suzuki預期會調低部分車型的價格，包括Alto和Wagon R。據《商業標準報》報導，Maruti Suzuki主席RC Bhargava建議，Alto的價格可能會降低40,000至50,000盧比，而Wagon R的價格可能會減少60,000至67,000盧比。他補充說，公司官員正在研究具體細節。
Bhargava進一步表示，GST減稅可能會在本財年促使小型車銷量增長10%，這將推動汽車行業。GST委員會本週早些時候決定將乘用車的稅率從28%降至18%，自9月22日起生效。
「小型車的銷量此前一直在下降，我們預計今年將在GST大幅削減後增長10%。即使是大型車，以前需要支付高達50%的GST和附加稅，現在也被限制在40%。因此，我們預計整個乘用車市場將增長6-8%，」他告訴《商業標準報》。
GST減稅也將惠及大型車和豪華車，這些車型的引擎排量超過1,200 cc，車長超過四米。

Renault India也在GST改革後宣布降價，將其汽車價格最多降低96,395盧比。Kwid的最高版本價格將減少54,995盧比，Triber減少80,195盧比，而Kiger最多減少96,395盧比。
